My month started out great when I helped chaperone a wonderful bunch of kids on a trip to Washington D.C. They were so excited and couldn't have made us any prouder. It was such fun to be with them, and I so grateful that we can provide these kinds of opportunities for our public school kids.
Another thing we did a lot of in May was planning for our gardens. I say planning because it was just too cool to do much planting. Things are late this year as we had a frost the last full week of the month. We did go to a native plant sale and got some interesting items. And I got a beautiful hanging basket that is currently recovering from that late May frost.
Some of our other flowers did well even with the cold weather.
Bill did a lot of nice work in the garden and his efforts are paying off. We are enjoying onions and these nice radishes with our meals.
We celebrated Mother's Day with a dinner for my mom at our house with good food, nice gifts, and a lot of laughs.
Another fun part of welcoming the spring season was getting to transition from wool skirts and tights to springy clothes and shoes. I enjoyed a few new things as well as rediscovering some old favorites.
But the biggest news for May is our new addition to the family. Meet Maggie!
She is keeping us busy...but it's fun to have a dog around again.
Hope your May was a happy one.
All the best,
Kelly
